The Marlin Collection

For those of you who don't yet know Marlin, he's a serious flier
(who also likes to have fun from time to time).  Most of his rockets
are traditional i.e. L and M flights and multi-stage.  I've included
a lot of the exceptions below precisely because the don't look like
every other rocket you'll see.

He long ago set the world record on G motor clusters making 3 flights
of a rocket which contained a K550 and enough G motors clustered
to go well into M territory in total impulse.

What better use could there be for heavy-duty fiberglass pipe and honeycomb aluminum sheets?

Just about every rocketeer has had a favorite rocket.

Well, for Marlin this one was a jewel.  Reliable as a workhorse and strong as a gorrilla - it is no wonder that he liked it.

On a subsequent flight in Windom, it landed under chute at a considerable distance.  We were unable to locate the rocket after arriving at its expected location.

Hmmm  -  I wonder what would happen if I put rocket motors on a Honda fan?

The washing machine agitator below also flew well and recovered under chute as planned.

Now, why would anyone invent a soft drink called extreme energy shot,
label it as a rocket and put a nose cone on it?

It was just begging for someone to put fins on it and fly it.
As usual, it was flown and recovered safely under chute.

Doing safe 3 stage HPR flights is surprisingly more complicated than 2 stage flights.
